I had a great time opening Glasgow’s first Sagra Italiana celebrating our city’s enduring Scottish-Italian links. It was a wonderful event featuring Italian music, food and drink and the people and passions of that country. My congratulations to everyone involved and my thanks to all those who showed up to support the event and celebrate our connections.

I was honoured to be asked to open the first Sagra Italiana held in George Square, Glasgow. I found the event to have a friendly atmosphere and of course it was blessed with glorious weather. It was clearly evident the importance of the Italian Business Community in the region which was also recognised by the Lord Provost.
